stayed at a lovely chalet with comfy beds and great kitchen facilities at a camping site by the river. Lively atmosphere with kids enjoying the free bikes and go-carts. Convenient shop selling essentials and wood for BBQ huts. exceeded expectations for a romantic stay in Alta.

Lovely small campground with great private sauna, clean cabins, public kitchen, laundry room, and drying cabinet. Convenient location for one or two nights.

I keep coming back to this camping spot because it has everything I need. They even helped me find a car service! Wi-Fi, free parking, sauna, and a kitchen stocked with everything. Perfect for a romantic escape.

Stayed for six nights with wife and daughter. Chalet fully equipped, well maintained, and clean. Super communal kitchen/dining room available. Great base for exploring Alta/Finmark region. Situated on quiet riverbank. Helpful hosts provided ideas of things to see and do. Highly recommended and great value compared to other accommodations in Norway.

With two young children under 12 years old, our visit to Alta River Camping was a fantastic family experience. The cozy cabin provided us with all the necessary utilities for cooking and enjoying meals together. The comfortable beds ensured a good night's sleep for everyone, and the spacious shower cubicle and storage baskets made it easy to keep organized. The highlight for our kids was the nearby playground, where they could run around and have fun after a long day of exploring.

My wife says that having a bathroom with something to hang clothes on would have been helpful for our family.

We had an amazing time during our romantic escape at this lovely camping site! The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful, providing us with all the information we needed for a perfect stay. The room was clean, comfy, and equipped with everything we needed, including cooking facilities. We especially loved the fact that the camping site is located next to the river, offering a serene and peaceful atmosphere. Plus, the campsite had a small shop that sold essentials, making our stay even more convenient.

While we had a wonderful time overall, there were a couple of minor drawbacks. the camping site was a bit away from the center of Alta, requiring a short car ride to get there.

The cabin we stayed in during Christmas was fully equipped with everything we needed and was incredibly warm, cozy, and comfortable. the view from the cabin, right by the river, was absolutely stunning, and we were even lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the northern lights through the window! the staff at the campsite were incredibly helpful and friendly, and we also had the option to use the sauna in the main house for a small additional cost.

One of the minor drawbacks of the cabin was that the fridge was quite noisy, which could be bothersome if you plan on spending a lot of time inside. the public transport in the area was not very reliable, with few buses and limited schedules.

We had a fantastic time at River Camping in Alta. the facility was well, managed and provided everything we needed for a camping, style accommodation. Although some amenities were not included or required an additional cost, it's important to remember that this is a camping facility, not a hotel. Despite this, we were fully satisfied with our two, night stay. the location was perfect for capturing the beauty of the Northern Lights, as it is situated away from city lights and by the river. the owner was amazing and very helpful, providing us with blankets and valuable information. the room was clean, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed, including cooking utensils. the shared shower, toilet, and sink were conveniently located in the same building. We also appreciated the option for children to enjoy riding older tricycles for some exercise in the evening. Cons: Nothing that I didn't like. 😊.
